Oregon (15.7.)

Päivityksiin tuli katkos kun siirryimme Oregonin perämetsiin. Boisesta suuntasimme kohti Mitchelliä ja sen lähellä sijaitsevaa Painted Hills aluetta. Meillä ei ollut tietoakaan majapaikasta, mutta ennakkotutkimuksen mukaan alueella oli useita USDA:n (United States Department of Agriculture) leirintäalueita. Reitti: Boise ID - Ontario OR - Vale - John Day - Mitchell - Ochoco Natonal Forest. (Tiet: I84 - OR201 - US26). Saavuimme Ochocon National Forestiin hieman neljän jälkeen kun ylitimme Pacific aikavyöhykkeen ja menimme ensimmäiselle leirintäalueelle joka tuli vastaan. Teltat kun oli pystyssä keskustelimme leirintäalueen valvojan Edin kanssa missä olisi lähin ruokakauppa, koska Ontarion ja Mitchellin välisellä osuudella ei ollut kuin Minimarteja. Lähin kunnollinen ruokakauppa oli Prinevillessä 40min ajon päässä. Ei auttanut muuta kuin ajaa Prinevilleen, koska meidän ruoka- ja vesivarastot oli loppumassa. Prinevillestä ostettiin varastot täyteen ja palasimme teltoille grillaamaan iltapalaa. Lounaan kun söimme jo Prairie cityn pienessä Chuck's little diner kahvilassa puolenpäivän maissa. Iltapalan jälkeen muutama kierros UNOa ja pehkuihin. Päivän saldo: 536,3 km.

We had a short delay on our updates as we went off gread for few days. From Boise we took course towards Mitchell and the area of Painted Hills. We had no clue of where we would camp, but according to information we had there were several USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) campsites near the hills. Route: Boise ID - Ontario OR - Vale - John Day - Mitchell - Ochoco National Forest. (Tiet: I84 - OR201 - US26). We arrived to Ochoco National Forest just after four, as we crossed the Pacific time zone and entered the first campground that came along. After we got our tents up we talked with the campsite host Ed where was the closest grocery store as there were only Minimarts between Ontario and Mitchell. The closest store was in Prineville a 40 minute drive from our campsite. So there was nothing else to do than to drive to Prineville ad our water and food supplies were running low. Once our supplies were full we returned to the campsite to prepare dinner as we've had lunch at Chuck's little diner in Prairie City just after noon. After dinner few rounds of UNO and to bed. Achievement of the day: 335.2 miles.
